Services
At Sky Raiders we strive to be the very best not only in the way we work and the services we offer but in the way we manage the animals we work with.
Our team are constantly researching new techniques and equipment to further improve the level of care and training we provide to our animals.
We work with all of our birds of prey on a daily basis, to maintain their fitness and health.
Those who are part of the current flying team are provided with the freedom to fly everyday no matter the weather, whilst the rest of the team are allowed to chill out in our specially designed aviaries.
Over 20 years ago, Peter Gibbens, began to learn the historic art of Falconry which has been practised for thousands of years.
Learning this art has provided many opportunities and experiences for Peter, which has in turn led to him starting Sky Raiders.
Since starting to learn Falconry, Peter has not only worked with a large selection of different raptor species, but he has also built up a team of specialists (both human and bird) with the same experience and knowledge, which now forms Team Sky Raiders.
With over 20 years experience, our team have put together a selection of services that allow us to guarantee the reduction of pest birds on our clients sites.
All of our services are individually tailored to our clients exact needs at a price that is not going to break your budget.
Onsite Falconer Presence Pest Birds tend to be rather stubborn and therefore need a strong, controlled and regular presence to manage them, there are times that a regular visit, i.e. once a week, is just not enough.
If you are finding that as soon as your Pest Control Officer has left the Pest Birds are.
Did you know any animal can become a pest?
It's all about the size of the group they live in and how much of a problem they can cause.
For example 1 Feral Pigeon is unlikely to be classified as a pest, but a breeding pair of Pigeons can quickly increase in numbers, as they can lay up to 18 eggs a year and they breed all year long.
Pigeons are also normally sexually mature at around 6 months old, allowing an unmanaged colony to increase from 2 to hundreds in no time at all.
When the numbers swell out of control is when the problems begin to occur.
Any species of bird can become a pest bird when their numbers grow exponentially in an area used by humans.
Large numbers of some species of birds can become a risk to our health and safety, whilst other species damage property and carry diseases that are harmful to humans.
When you think of Pest Birds, your mind is likely to go straight to Seagulls and Pigeons, which are the most common pest species we manage.
These birds are well known for leaving large amounts of faeces all over cars and buildings, and their constant scavenging for food.
